"The Vienna Hospital Association is one of the largest healthcare facilities in Europe combining 12 hospitals and 12 Geriatric Centres and Residential Care Homes of the City of Vienna with socio-medical care under one roof. About 32.000 employees look after the well-being of the patients in their care and thus represent the key success factor of Vienna's exceptional health care system. The Viennese school of Medicine is internationally known and the medical care provided by Vienna hospitals is among the best in the world, e.g. the treatment of accidents, strokes, cardiac infarctions, transplants, pregnancy care, obstetrics and orthopaedics - it also enjoys a global reputation in oncology.
The Vienna Hospital Association offers physicians from all over the world the opportunity to complete a study visit of one month in a Viennese hospital and provides room and board for the duration of the study visit. Medical specialists will be assigned to a department according to their field of expertise. Special requests for a specific hospital or device-related training will be taken into consideration. A mentor will be at the observer's disposal during the entire observership.
We wish to provide our observers with the best facilities the VHA has to offer in order to make their stay an unforgettable one. I am personally very keen on hosting colleagues from all over the world on the premises of The Vienna Hospital Association."
